Isles Likely To Keep This Years Pick

Last night, the Islanders held a town hall meeting for season ticket holders who were on the fence about renewing their tickets.

At the meeting, fans had the chance to ask GM Garth Snow, coach Jack Capuano, and assistant coach/GM Doug Weight questions.  When asked about this years draft pick Garth Snow said he would, "wager any amount of money that they will retain this years first round pick."

This is in line with what Newsday has been saying for a while regarding our desire to keep this years pick.

Given that the pick is top 5 this shouldn't come as a total surprise.  However, given the huge disparity in talent between this years draft and next years I was hoping that we would surrender this years pick and keep next years.
