According to reports, after attempting to and failing to sell his 20% ownership in the Nets, Bruce Ratner is now attempting to sell his 55% stake in Barclays Center. Ratners stake in the arena is reportedly valued in excess of 400 million dollars.
Mikhail Prokhorov's business ONEXIM Sports and Entertainment Holdings which owns the other 45% of the arena is believed to have the right of first refusal on Ratners share, according to Nets Daily. It is also being speculated that new Islanders owners Jonathan Ledecky and Scott Malkin could have interest in Ratners arena stake. Daniel Kaplan from Sports Business Daily notes that it would be unconventional if the arena is owned by someone other than Prokhorov or Ledecky & Malkin.
