According to various reports, the Flyers announced this morning that they signed former Islander Andrew MacDonald to a 6 year contract extension worth 30 million dollars. MacDonald was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The Flyers acquired MacDonald from the Islanders last month in exchange for a 3rd round pick this year, a 2nd round pick next year and forward Matt Mangene.
MacDonald reportedly rejected a 4 year offer worth 16 million from the Islanders before being traded.

I never really had any doubt that MacDonald would get his money and it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Flyers were the ones to overpay him. This contract will keep MacDonald in Philly until he is 33 years old. One has to wonder with the style he plays if as the contract wears on his body will be able to hold up.
