A Christmas Miracle In Detroit As Isles Shutout Wings

If you remember, the last time the Islanders met the Red Wings it wasn't a pretty game for the Islanders.  Well, tonight the Islanders were able to get some revenge on them as they defeated the Wings by a score of 3-0.  Here are some of my notes from the game:

-Evgeni Nabokov continues to impress as he was solid yet again tonight.  I'm beginning to think that Nabokov may have been hurt already before he actually went on IR because he seems like a new person since he got back.

-Another great game for the first line.  They have chances seemingly on every shift and it is a pleasure to watch them play night in and night out.

-Great game from the fourth line tonight.  Casey's goal tonight was reminiscent of a shift the line would've had during the streak last season.  Hopefully, we will see more of that from them.

-Good to see Bailey and Grabner continuing to get points.  Hopefully, Bailey will be the next one to get off the snide when it comes to scoring.

Well, they couldn't have asked for a better way to go into the holiday recess then with a game like this.  As Howie Rose said tonight, the team is 3-2-2 in their last seven.  Maybe, they are beginning to trend upwards after trending further and further down since the second week of the season.

Next Game: Saturday 12/28 @ Home Vs The Devils
