Botta is reporting that Brett Yormark, the CEO of the Barclays Center and the Nets is seeking to get 6-7 million a year for the naming rights of the Coliseum. A condition of any deal however is that Veterans Memorial must remain in the name.
If you recall, Bruce Ratner and his group will be redoing the Coliseum after the Islanders leave and Yormark is part of that group.
In SBJ: Yormark looking for $6-7 mill a year for Nassau Coliseum naming rights. "Veterans Memorial" must remain part of any name.

I wonder who if anyone would step up for the naming rights of the Coliseum. It is a pretty classy gesture by Ratner and co to require that Veterans Memorial remain part of any name.
That's a lot of money to pay for a place that has no home team. Nassau county should be ashamed of themselves.
