Former Islander Bob Boune Joins Class Action Lawsuit Against NHL

According to reports, former Islander forward Bob Bourne has joined a class action lawsuit against the NHL filed on Monday in Washington Federal Court by ten former NHL players claiming that the NHL hasn't done enough to protect players from concussions.

The suit is seeking damages and court approved, NHL sponsored monitoring for players brain trauma and injuries they blame on their NHL careers.

For more on this check out an article on it from ESPN.

Some have said that this lawsuit will end up with fighting being removed from hockey.  I don't know if it will get that far, but the NHL certainly can't be thrilled with this.  Especially after the outcome for the NFL in a similar lawsuit a couple months ago.
