Tavares 2 Goals Lift Islanders Over Predators 6-4

Tonight, before their home fans, the Islanders defeated the Nashville Predators by a score of 6-4.  Here are some of my notes:

-After getting shut out the last two games, it was nice to see the team put up some goals.

-Tavares line was solid, Bailey seemed to work well with them.

-Loved Brock Nelsons game tonight, he really set up Colin McDonalds goal, and didn't look out of place on his brief couple shifts on the Tavares line either.

-I thought Nabby played alright, the end of the game was a bit discouraging.  But, to be fair, the defense wasn't helping him much by then.

-Pekka Rinne is a darn good goalie!  Sure the Islanders put a few past him tonight, but they should've had a couple more that they were totally robbed on.

-Matt Donovan didn't look out of place either which is encouraging.

-Real nice setup on the powerplay goal by Visnovsky at the end of the first.

Overall, I was impressed with their play tonight.  I know its only pre season, but after not scoring for back to back games tonight was a more then welcomed sight.

Next Game: Split Squad Sunday against Ottawa (Pre Season Finale)
