Wang: Crest Won't Be Touched As Long As I Am Owner

Since the Islanders announced their move to Brooklyn last fall, there has been speculation as to if there would be any changes with their color schemes or logo similar to how the Brooklyn Nets changed things when moving from New Jersey to Brooklyn for this season.

Well, in an interview with Chris Botta, Islanders owner Charles Wang said that as long as he is the owner the team will be called the New York Islanders and the crest won't be messed with.

For me, this is refreshing because even though we will no longer be playing in Nassau our logo is history and that should be honored not changed.  Plus, Brooklyn is technically on the logo already.  With regard to the name, were still going to be in New York so a name change doesn't make much sense to me.
