Isles after Brandon Saad?

Update: Kevin Schultz from islanderspointblank reports that a source has told him that there is no chance the Islanders land Saad.

Sources have been wrong before, but in this instance I think the source will be correct.  It is encouraging though to see Snow looking to add to the team.

According to Newsday, the Islanders are attempting to land Blackhawks top prospect Brandon Saad.

Saad is in his rookie year with Chicago and has 20 points in 34 games.  Keep in mind Saad is just 20 years of age.

Both Newsday & Craig Custance have said this is an extreme long shot.  However, this proves the team isn't looking to improve for just the next 11 games but the future as well.

  1. Any GM can publicize a wish list. That's enough to satisfy an Islanders fan? "It is encouraging though to see Snow looking to add to the team.". Pathetic.

  2. When every year its been looking to dump guys for picks or dump guys to save the owner a couple dollars. Seeing them looking to add to the team instead of subtract from it is an encouraging step forward.
