According to a recent Newsday article, Ed Mangano wants to transform the Coliseum into an 8,000-12,000 seat facility suitable for family shows, concerts and minor league sports.
This is expected to be announced during his state of the county address tomorrow night.
With so many new venues around this area why would any major acts consider going to the Coliseum? Assuming this scaled down version being talked about even gets built which as we know oh to well is far from a guarantee. Additionally, with so many different minor league sports already available in this market why add to it even more? Unless its a Nassau rival for the Ducks which could do well I dont see the point of additional minor league sports.
