Boychuk, in his first season with the Islanders has been everything they could've hoped for and more. To get him signed, I feel sends a huge statement around the league considering the general consensus when he was acquired was that there was no chance in the world he would remain with the Islanders past this season. For him to resign for such term shows his belief in the team and the direction they are going. This will no doubt send a message to other players about the team and organization. With this news, today is a great day to be an Islander fan!
