According to spectorshockey.net, there is talk that the Islanders would like to move forward Cal Clutterbuck. The report speculates that Clutterbucks 2.75 million dollar cap hit could prove difficult to move though.
Clutterbuck, who was acquired by the Islanders on draft day 2013 along with a third round pick from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for disgruntled prospect Nino Niederreiter has put up 21 points including 13 goals in 84 regular season games since joining the team.
I understand the teams desire to move a forward with Grabner and Bailey coming back they will have a bit of a logjam. However, moving Clutterbuck wouldn't make much sense to me because it is highly unlikely they will be able to get near the value in return for him that they gave up for him.
