Tonight, our Islanders continued their hot play as they defeated the Flyers by a score of 1-0 in a shootout. Here are some of my notes from the game:
-Great effort from Halak, he was on point tonight and the Islanders really benefited. He made a potential save of the year on Claude Giroux's shootout attempt.
-To be fair to Steve Mason, he played an unbelievable game tonight. He stole a point for the Flyers tonight.
-Solid game from the kid line tonight, they were clicking all game.
-Given that he hadn't played all season, Matt Donovan didn't seem to be behind which is good to see.
-With 1/3 of the defense replaced for tonight's game, the team really didn't miss a step allowing just 21 shots on net which is the sign of a good team.
I am running out of things to say about this team. They are off to the best start in franchise history now and are undefeated in shootouts thus far this season. Obviously this streak won't last this entire season, but this team seems to be capturing the imaginations of Islander fans all over the place.
Next Game: Wednesday @ Home vs Washington
