Tonight, our Islanders travel to Boston looking to snap their two game losing streak as they take on Patrice Bergeron and the Bruins.
The goalie match up tonight features former Bruin Chad Johnson in net for the Islanders. Meanwhile, Niklas Svedberg will be in net for the Bruins.
The big story line tonight is of course the return of Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk to Boston for the first time since the October 4th trade that sent him to the Islanders in exchange for a couple of draft picks.
On top of that though, the Islanders lineup will look a bit different. Forward Colin McDonald was sent down to Bridgeport and Anders Lee was called up and will be dressing on the left wing of the Strome and Nelson line. Additionally, earlier today, Lubomir Visnovsky was activated off IR and will in the lineup tonight alongside Thomas Hickey. To make room for Visnovsky on the roster Mikhail Grabovski was put on IR yesterday retroactive to last Thursday. Visnovsky will take Travis Hamonics spot in the lineup tonight who is banged up.
Tonights game is a big one for the Islanders as they look to end their first losing streak of the season. In order to make the playoffs, nipping these streaks down before they get out of hand will be key for the team.
