Islanders Owners To Be Introduced Next Week

Update: According to Arthur Staple, Ledecky and Malkin will be introduced at a press conference next Wednesday.

According to Kevin Maher from News 12, a press conference will likely be held next week introducing new Islanders owners Scott Malkin and Jonathan Ledecky.

The pair purchased a minority stake in the Islanders in August from team owner Charles Wang with their stake turning into majority control in two years.  After surrendering majority control, Wang will remain on as a minority owner.  The sale received approval from the NHL BOG late last month.

I wonder if it is any coincidence that the Islanders had their most aggressive off-season in recent memory the same summer that Charles Wang initiates the sale of the team.
