As the draft draws near, today we will take a look at forward Sam Reinhart. Reinhart is the younger brother of Islanders top defensive prospect Griffin Reinhart.
Along with defenseman Aaron Ekblad, Reinhart has been on of the top ranked potential draftees of this draft for a while now. In 60 games this season for the Kootenay Ice, Reinhart managed to put up 105 points including 36 goals. Reinharts dad Paul who was also an NHL players raves about his sons understanding of the game and ability to do the small things. Like Ekblad, Reinhart also has a high hockey IQ.
With his relation to Griffin Reinhart, it has left some Islander fans hoping for a possible reunion of brothers in Uniondale/Brooklyn. While it would be nice, it would be a huge surprise if Reinhart were to fall to the Islanders at 5 making a brothers reunion very unlikely.
