Isles Down Devils 3-2 In Shootout

Last night, our Islanders defeated the rival Devils by a score of 3-2 in a shootout.  Here are some of my notes from the game:

-Another good start by Nilsson against the Devils, I don't know what it is about them but Nilsson usually seems to play pretty well against them.

-Good to see Strome put another one to the back of the net for the second consecutive game.

-For such a small guy, Hickey can make himself much bigger when he goes down on the ice to block a pass.

-Good to see Bailey and Strome come through in the shootout to clinch the win.  While I am not wild about the spin move they used, it isn't the first time people in the league have used it and it won't be the last so complaining about it is all moot in my opinion.

Given the amount of rookies in our lineup it is truly remarkable that we are in each and every game and have gone on to win a fair amount of them.  Further then that, there have been times in some of the games where we have actually dominated the play which on paper is just crazy.  What is even more puzzling is the split between our home and road record.  This marks the second season in a row where there is a large disparity between our home record and our road record.  In order for the team to be successful this obviously has to change.

Next Game: Tomorrow Night 5:00PM @ Buffalo (Final Game of the Season)
