Isles Stun Chicago In 3-2 OT Win

Tonight, our Islanders stunned the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks with a 3-2 victory in overtime.  The Islanders effort was led by Evgeni Nabokov as well as the recently snubbed Kyle Okposo.  Here are some of my notes from the game:

-What can you say about Okposo?  Guy was on once again tonight and defined poetic justice by netting the game winner.  He now sits at 11th in the league in scoring with 42 points in 42 games.

-Heck of a game by Nabokov tonight, he stole us the win.  I don't know what happened to him but since he came back from his injury he has been like a hole new player.

-MacDonald had a rough night tonight.  He did make a nice little pass on the winning goal but he was an absolute mess in his own zone tonight.  I don't know what happened to him but he is like a hole different player this year in terms of effectiveness compared to previous years.

-Ryan Strome is going to get his first goal very soon.  He was flying around the ice tonight and had a ton of chances.  If he keeps that up one will eventually find its way in.  It is also good to see him stand up for Brian Strait like he did after he was boarded by Andrew Shaw of the Hawks.

-Casey Cizikas had a solid game tonight.  Impressive little deke on his goal!

-Good to see Vanek get another one to keep up his hot streak.  It would be a huge mistake in my opinion if the Islanders fail to resign him.

You couldn't have wanted anything more from tonight's game then you had.  Hollywood writers couldn't have wrote a better ending then what occurred either after the snubbing yesterday.  This team has now beat the Blackhawks and Bruins in consecutive games.  Will the real New York Islanders please stand up?

Next Game: Saturday @ Home Vs Carolina
