This morning, the Islanders announced that defenseman Brian Strait was placed on IR retroactive to October 24th.
There has yet to be an announcement of any call-up or anything to replace Strait whose placement on IR leaves the Islanders with 6 defensemen on the NHL roster and no extras.
I'm not sure if we will see a call-up now because if we were going to see one I think we would've seen it already. Strait has really struggled not only this season but last season as well after coming back from his severe ankle injury.
We have also yet to get any sort of timeline on Lubomir Visnovsky who was injured with a concussion in the game against Carolina on October 19th.
