News From Today In Brooklyn

This morning, the Islanders kicked off training camp in their future new home at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  Below, you will find news that came from todays first day at camp:

No Color Change In Brooklyn

Brett Yormark, the CEO of the Nets and Barclays Center as well as in charge of Islanders marketing, suite sales, and ticket sales announced that the Islanders colors will remain the same upon the move to Brooklyn.  However, a third jersey will be designed and a new patch will be added to their jerseys in order to speak to the Brooklyn audience.

Capacity Bigger Than We Thought?

According to reports, Brett Yormark told reporters today that the capacity of the Barclays Center for hockey will be 15,813.  That includes the possibility of adding additional seats in the future.  That is only a couple hundred less then the Coliseum holds now.  Additionally, that is far more then the 14,500 initially reported after the move last year.  Although, it is unclear of that number how many seats will have some sort of obstructed view.
