Selanne Thinks the Lockout Ends Monday

In a recent interview with MTV3 in Finland, Ducks forward Teemu Selanne said that he thinks the lockout which is now over 100 days old will end this coming Monday January 7th.  He went on to say that following that, camps would open on the 10th and then the opening game(s) would be on the 18th or 19th.

That timeline would coincide with reports saying that CBC the TV station in Canada was contacted by the NHL notifying them to be ready for a January 19th opening to the season.

After all that has gone on, it is refreshing to know that one way or the other we should have closure on this issue by next Friday.  Personally, no matter what people say, I wont be sold on their being a shortened season this year until Bettman and Fehr are at the news conference side by side announcing a new CBA and an end to the lockout.
