Pre Game: Devils @ Islanders! Season Opener

Well after over 120 days of waiting, our New York Islanders finally open the season tonight against the New Jersey Devils.

For the 18th straight season Marty Brodeur will get the nod in net for the Devils, meanwhile, for the Islanders Evgeni Nabokov will get the start.

According to Arthur Staple, newly acquired center Keith Aucoin will be in the lineup tonight which means one of Marty Reasoner or Casey Cizikas will be on the sideline.  Being where the team is I will be shocked if it isn't Reasoner on the sideline.

Additionally, Staple reports that Radek Martinek was the last defenseman off the ice this morning, which usually means that your out for the game.  Martinek was paired with Streit in the brief camp this week so this came as a surprise to most.  Capuano told Staple that he wanted to have size on defense because he was concerned about the penalty kill, so some started thinking that newly acquired Joe Finley might be in the lineup tonight.

If you cant make the game tonight, tune in to IO channel 73 for the Islanders broadcast at 7:00 with the game starting around 7:25.

No better video to watch before you head out the door before the game then this one:
