Update: According to Newsday, the Islanders will also have an afternoon game on Martin Luther King Day. This should come as little surprise as the Islanders have had a home game on MLK Day every year since 2007. The opponent is expected to be the Lightning. However, without a schedule that has yet to be confirmed.

According to Tom Gulitti, the Devils beat writer for NorthJersey.com the Islanders will be opening the season against the Devils at the Coliseum next Saturday January 19th.
