Isles Drop Pre Season Finale 6-1 To Bruins

Tonight, our Islanders fell 6-1 to the Boston Bruins in their pre season finale.  Here are some of my notes from the game:

-The score is a bit deceiving because goalie Chad Johnson really didn't have a bad game.  The team around him really let him down and put him in unfortunate situations.

-Josh Ho-Sang is really raw still but man is he fun to watch.  He flew around the ice tonight!

-Brock Nelson had a pretty solid game and thankfully wasn't phased by the cheap shot put on him in the second period by Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller.  I am curious if Miller will hear from the league about this hit.

-Ryan Strome had another pretty good game, pretty much cementing his spot with the team out of camp.  We should find out officially tomorrow as Arthur Staple reported tonight that the Islanders will announce cuts tomorrow getting the roster down to 27-28 players.

The Islanders iced a lot of minor league players tonight and it was evident by the control of play advantage for the Bruins.  Even though the Islanders did have spurts of pressure this was a pretty decisive win by the Bruins.

Next Game: Season Opener Next Friday 10/10 @ Carolina
