Grabner is going into the 4th year of a 5 year deal with the Islanders paying him 3 million dollars per season. With the depth the Islanders have up front now, the expectations for Grabner should be lessened this season which could result in a more consistent performance from him. In 263 games for the Islanders, Grabner has managed to put up 131 points including 82 goals. The trouble with Grabner is just like his teammate Josh Bailey, he has long stretches of inconsistency which hamper his game. If he can work out those inconsistencies and start to finish on breakaways, he could end up being a long term piece for the Islanders.
