Earlier today, the Islanders acquired LI Native Matt Mangene along with a couple draft picks from the Flyers in exchange for Andrew MacDonald.
Mangene, 24, a native of Manorville went undrafted and had been playing with the Flyers AHL affiliate the Adirondack Phantoms. In 51 games this season for the Phantoms, Mangene managed 6 points and 32 penalty minutes. His most productive season in the AHL came last season when he managed 11 points in 36 games.
