Isles/Fans Welcome Back Moulson

Tuesday night's loss marked Matt Moulsons first game back at Nassau Coliseum since the October trade that sent him to Buffalo.

To say Moulson was given a nice welcome would be a pretty huge understatement.  It began with Moulson getting a huge ovation in the first TV timeout of the game as a message appeared on the board acknowledging Moulson for his accomplishments with the Islanders.

It went on to include Moulson being cheered after he scored each of his goals.  That is something I had personally only seen replicated when Mike Piazza returned to Shea Stadium the first time after leaving the Mets and was cheered after hitting homeruns against the Mets.

The fans welcome back concluded with a couple of loud "We Want Moulson" chants near the conclusion of the game.  Moulson spoke to media about it after the game and also took to twitter to thank the fans for such a kind response.

While I expected there to be such a warm reception for Moulson and deservedly so, it was still weird to hear more chants/cheers for the opposition then for the Islanders at a home game.
