Reinhart/Pelech Invited To Canadian WJC Selection Camp

Yesterday, team Canada named 25 players to their world junior selection camp.  The camp will be held from December 12th until December 15th.  The roster needs to be trimmed from 25 to 22 by Christmas day.  The tournament will be held from December 26 until January 5th in Sweden.

Two Islanders prospects, 2012 first round pick Griffin Reinhart and 2012 third round pick Adam Pelech were among the 25 players invited to camp.

There was some wonder if Reinhart would be invited because he is currently serving a 4 game suspension for a high stick in last years tournament.  Of the 4 games he has only served 1 meaning that he would have to miss the first three games of this years tournament.  This year, his second as captain of the Edmonton Oil Kings, Reinhart has registered 10 points and 21 penalty minutes in 21 games.

Meanwhile, this year, Pelech who had been previously known for his defensive game has added some offense to his repertoire.  In 20 games for the Erie Otters this year Pelech has managed 15 points.  Coming into this season, Pelech had put up 62 points in 168 games.
