Tonight, our Islanders fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Lightning. Tonight's loss marked the Islanders 16th straight game without a regulation win. Here are some of my notes:
-Can't blame any of the goals on Nabokov tonight who looked pretty sharp once again. The first goal was on Nielsen with the horrific turnover and the second one the team just couldn't clear the puck. Nabby didn't look to good in the shootout though. He summed up the end of the game well post game:

-Josh Bailey continues to be lost on the ice. I have never seen a guy get two breakaways in one period and not get a shot on net on either one. I don't know what the coaches need to do to him but they have to do something because it is amateur hour with him right now.
-Grabner actually had one of his better games in a while tonight. Hopefully, this can be the start of something for him because he could sure use it after this dreadful stretch he has been on.
-Thomas Hickey had a real up and down game. There were a few times where he made some nice plays including a huge hit. However, there were other times we he just got burned.
-Good to see the team score a rare power play goal!
This loss was a predictable one for the Islanders as we have seen this movie many times before. Not only this season, but the last few seasons. I don't know what they have to do but some how they need to learn how to finish games.
Next Game: Friday @ MSG vs the Rangers
