Tonight, our Islanders lost their fourth game in a row falling 3-2 to the Winnipeg Jets. Here are some of my notes from the game:
-Nice goal by Tavares, he showed great strength on the puck.
-Rookie mistake by Donovan on the Jets second goal, and bad back-check by Frans Nielsen.
-Can we shoot the puck on the power play? They always pass around the perimeter looking for the perfect play and it leads to a turnover and the opposing team clearing it. I don't know what Doug Weight has to do but he has to get the guys to throw the puck at the net more and create scoring chances.
-It was nice to actually not give up a power play goal tonight. Wonder how long its been since we did that?
-It was nice to see Baileys ice time get cut in the third period after being invisible for the better part of the last six weeks. Brock Nelson was finally getting the ice time deserved for a top prospect playing at this level. Now lets see if Bailey earns that ice time back, remember he is in the first year of a 5 year deal this year which leaves him with a higher cap hit then Matt Moulson carries this year.
-Don't understand why they continue to play Carkner over Martinek.
-Andrew MacDonald had a really bad game tonight! I felt like he was just a mess in all aspects of his game.
Next Game: Friday 11/29 4PM Vs The Red Wings
