According to their official website, the Islanders returned five prospects to their junior teams today.
Defenseman Kyle Burroughs, a 7th round pick in this years draft was returned to the Regina Pats in the WHL. Burroughs had 5 goals and 28 assists for the Pats last season. His 28 assists was enough to be tops on the team amongst defensemen.
Forward Victor Crus Rydberg, a 5th round pick in this years draft was returned to the Plymouth Whalers in the WHL. Rydberg spent last season playing over seas, so this will be his first year in juniors. If you recall during camp in July, Rydberg was the recipient of some high praise from fans and media personnel alike.
Defenseman Jesse Graham, a 6th round pick in last years draft was returned to the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL. If that team looks familiar, it should because that is the same team that 2011 first round pick Ryan Strome played for. Last season for the IceDogs, Graham put up 4 goals and 35 assists.
Defenseman Loic Leduc, a 4th round pick in last years draft was returned to the Cape Brenton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL. Standing at 6'5, Leduc is just another imposing figure that could find his way to the Islanders blue line in the future.
Defenseman Adam Pelech, a 3rd round pick in last years draft was returned to the Erie Otters of the OHL. Last season for the Otters, Pelech put up 8 goals and 32 assists which led all defensemen on his team.
