This afternoon, the NHL announced that Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, and Islanders forward John Tavares were the finalists for this years Hart Trophy awarded to the leagues most valuable player.
Given the fact that Crosby missed the last month of the season, most analysts are speculating that this is a two headed race between Tavares and Ovechkin.
If Tavares were to win he would be the first Islander since Bryan Trottier in the late 70's to win the award.
