Isles/Streit Talk Extension

According to Newsday, the Islanders and CAA the agents for Mark Streit have had preliminary talks regarding a possible contract extension for the Islanders captain.

Given his struggles this season, Streit still leads Islander defensemen in points with 6 but also has the worst +/- rating on the team with a -9.

If he wants 3+ years Streit will walk, however, on a one maybe two year deal depending on the money he could certainly return.

It will be very interesting to see how Visnovsky and Nabokov get handled.  The article mentions that they have yet to open extension talks with Nabokov.
