photo courtesy of http://members.shaw.ca/For the third time this week, the Isles have looked to the waiver wire for depth at defense. This time, they claimed defenseman Brian Strait of the Penguins.
Strait was a 3rd round pick in the 2006 NHL draft, and has been with the Penguins the last three seasons. He has seen limited NHL action over the last two years as a call up for injuries.
At the very least, this move improves our depth which is always a good thing.
