Even with all the recent speculation connecting the Islanders to Brooklyn, politicians in Nassau County are keeping hope. Newsday reports that the County has hired a law firm to handle the talks regarding the site.
Newsday reports that the firm Pannone Lopes Devereaux & West, LLC, was hired by the county this past spring for $25,000 to get the countys application for state funding ready. Additionally, they were also to prepare the countys RFQ for a master developer for "the hub" site. To officially hire them in this expanded capacity, the Mangano administration sought an extra $200,000 from the rules committee of the county legislature and it was approved unanimously.
