Tonight, our Islanders came out of their holiday break on a sour note with a 2-1 loss to the rival Devils. Here are some of my notes from the game:
-Nabokov had another solid outing continuing his stellar play since his return to the line up.
-Feels like I have said this already but the power play just isn't good.
-The offensive as our coach would say battle level wasn't there tonight.
-Ryan Strome is supposed to be put in a position to succeed at this level by coaches and management. How in the world is he supposed to do that when Peter Regin is one of his linemates?
-All things considered the defense was alright.
-Given that the Devils were on the back end of a back to back the effort was disappointing.
-The first line was a totally different line without Tavares. The decrease in chances were abundant.
Considering the momentum the team had accumulated before the break the game tonight was disappointing. The loss tonight doesn't put us in a good place for the back end of the back to back with Minnesota who were off today.
Next Game: Tomorrow Night 8:00PM @ Minnesota
