Clash Of NY: Rangers @ Islanders

Tonight, in the biggest Islander Ranger game in 10+ years, the Rangers pay a visit to the old barn in Hempstead which will surely be rocking to take on Nabokov and our red hot Islanders.

The goalie matchup tonight features Henrik Lundqvist for the Rangers.  Meanwhile, Evgeni Nabokov will get the start for the Islanders.

The Islanders lineup will be the same as it was on Thursday against Boston with the only possible change being Boulton in for Joensuu.  However, that is unlikely according to Newsday.

Capuano would be foolish to do that to me.  Boulton brings zero to the game and Martin and Carkner can handle the rough stuff if need be.  Joensuu has been productive in his two games so far this season and isn't inept in the offensive zone.  There is zero legitimate reasons to make that switch.

Meanwhile the Rangers projected forward group looks like this:

Rick Nash-Derek Stepan-Ryan Callahan
Carl Hagelin-Derek Brassard-Mats Zuccarello
Ryan Clowe-Brad Richards-Brian Boyle
Taylor Pyatt-Darrel Powe-Aaron Asham

The Rangers had 8 defensemen dressed during the morning skate.

Tonights Islander Ranger game is only the third time that both teams have met in April with both being in a playoff spot.  Tickets for this game have been the hottest ticket for an Islander game in recent memory.  Single tickets as of last night had reached over $200 a piece on stubhub with a pair being $250 per ticket.  With so much on the line for both teams, the arena is going to be a war zone tonight, with an atmosphere some of us have never seen before.
