According to reports, for the second time in back to back days the Islanders have claimed a defenseman on waivers.
This time it was 2007 4th overall pick Thomas Hickey from the Kings. In 33 games in the AHL this year Hickey had 12 points. At only 23, Hickey still has room to develop his game and possibly become another solid waiver wire pickup by Garth Snow.
