This afternoon, our Islanders finished off their home stand on a high note with a 2-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Here are some of my notes from the game:
-Great game from Nabokov, possibly his best this season. He kept the Jackets guessing all afternoon long.
-Pretty solid game from Kevin Czuczman, for his second NHL game the kid looks pretty comfortable out there.
-Rough game for Matt Donovan today with 3 penalties
-Good seeing Halmo stick up for Strome today
-Impressive rush by Hamonic leading to his goal, it would be good to see more of that from Hamonic.
-Congrats to Johan Sundstrom who registered his first NHL point assisting on the Islanders first goal.
The story today was Evgeni Nabokov who just shut down the Jackets. After last Tuesday's drubbing, this was a nice way to end the home stand and head off onto the road.
Next Game: Tuesday 3/25 @ Carolina
