Minor News of The Day

Lost in the shuffle with all the arena news today was that Islanders top prospect Kirill Kabanov is celebrating his 20th birthday today.  Kirill is expected to spend this season in Bridgeport as he continues to mature and develop into a potential top six forward for the Islanders.

Additionally it was announced that the Islanders had resigned forward Sean Backman to a one year two way deal.  Backman who is a relative of Matt Moulson will provide Bridgeport with depth as he did last season on their quest to their first division title in a decade.
